This summer, Swanage Pier presents a varied and exciting programme of events for visitors and locals alike, celebrating the Pier’s unique setting, rich history and relaxed seaside atmosphere. From gentle walks and family‑friendly activities to evenings out on the water, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Fish and Chip Cruise
One of the highlights of the summer season is the ever‑popular Fish and Chip Cruise. Enjoy classic fish and chips while taking in stunning coastal views from the water. It’s a relaxed and sociable way to experience Swanage Bay and Poole Harbour, perfect for groups, friends and visitors looking for a memorable evening by the sea.
Dates: Sunday 24th May, Saturday 13th June, Friday 10th July and Wednesday 29th July 2026

Yoga on the Pier
For those seeking a moment of calm, Yoga on the Pier offers a peaceful and refreshing way to start the day. Set against the backdrop of the sea, these sessions combine gentle movement, breathing, and relaxation, making the most of the Pier’s tranquil environment.
When: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 1st June at 8.00 am, plus Saturday 25th July at 5.30 pm
Summer Raffle
Our Summer Raffle launches at the end of May and offers the chance to win some truly fantastic prizes. These include amazing cash prizes, along with a range of other exciting rewards, such as a limited‑edition print by renowned local Purbeck artist Cathy Veale. The raffle is a wonderful way to support Swanage Pier while being in with a chance of winning something special.
As part of Purbeck Art Weeks, come and visit Cathy Veale from Saturday 23rd to Saturday 30th May at Marine Villas on the Pier.
Underwater Exhibition
Paul and Alison Pettitt will be displaying their underwater photographs on the lower landing of the Pier from the end of May, running throughout the summer. The exhibition showcases the fascinating marine life found beneath Swanage Pier.
Children’s History Walk
Designed especially for younger visitors, the Children’s History Walk makes learning fun and engaging. Through stories, simple facts, and interactive elements, children can discover the Pier’s past while enjoying a lively walk in a beautiful setting — a great activity for families during the May half term.

The Tale of Two Piers History Walks
Step back in time with our guided History Walks, which explore the fascinating story of Swanage Pier and its place in the town’s heritage. These walks provide insight into the Pier’s construction, its role over the years and the people who helped shape its history, all brought to life by one of our volunteers.

Park to Pier Walks
The Park to Pier Walks offer the chance to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and beautiful scenery. Starting at Durlston Country Park and ending at Swanage Pier, this walk is ideal for anyone who enjoys being active while appreciating the natural surroundings and seaside views along the way.
