Half Term Fun on Swanage Pier

Halloween Fun

Come and find the spooky creatures hidden on the Pier, as part of our Halloween trail.

£0.50p per trail sheet

Normal adult admission to the pier applies 

 



Children’s Pier History Tour

Tuesday 26th October at 2.30pm

Swanage Pier has a fascinating history and has always been an important part of   Swanage.

We will take a walk along the Pier, for about 45 minutes, strolling in the footsteps of past generations to learn more about the history, including hearing about pirates, smugglers, sunken treasure, and wrecks.

Accompanied children from 5 years.

Adult admission to the Pier applies.



Swanage Pier History Walks

Wednesday 27th October - 10.30am  

Enjoy a tour following in the footsteps of the Victorians in a stroll along the pier, a pleasure that has been enjoyed by generations.

Experience a breath of fresh air and great views while learning about the history of the pier told by one of our Volunteers.

Tours start at the gatehouse, normal admission applies to the Pier.

Seaside Science on the Pier

Wednesday 27th October - 11.00am - 2.00pm 

Fun Science Dorset will be visiting Swanage Pier on Wednesday 27th October (11am – 2pm) to share some free seaside themed science experiments. 

Look at an ocean in a bottle and the different zones of the sea. Take part in the walking water challenge; find out about water pressure; plus more fun experiments to see and do. 

For an extra (£2) you can also make your own Jellyfish slime to take home.

No need to book, just turn up and have fun.
 

 

 


Halloween Mask Making

Friday 29th October - 10.00am - 2.00pm

Wow, what a surprise - even your friends won’t recognise you in this fearsome disguise! 
Led by our volunteers, come along, and create your very own fancy dress mask for Halloween.

£1.50 per child

Pier to Park Walk

Saturday 20th November - 10.30am 

Meeting at Swanage Pier, join a Jurassic Coast Volunteer for a stroll from Swanage Pier to Durlston Castle, on the way discovering the history, wildlife and geology of the bay. Once you reach Durlston, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the country park led by a Ranger.

Adult - £5.00
Child - £3.00
No booking required just turn up on the day.

Meeting at Durlston Castle, join a Ranger for a stroll from Durlston Castle to Swanage  Pier, on the way discovering the history, wildlife and geology of Durlston Bay. Once you reach the Pier, you will have the opportunity for a history talk led by a Pier Volunteer.
