A Maritime Graveyard

Tuesday 13th October at 7.30pm 

Pier Volunteer, diver and amateur maritime archaeologist Nick Reed will explore different aspects of the varied facets of Purbeck’s fascinating maritime history. 

 A map of the Dorset coastline reveals a huge number of shipwrecks. Nick will explore the history and story of some of the wrecks in our local area. 

Talks will be done via an online platform, of which details will be sent a week before the event.

Lasting around 30-35 minutes with question time afterwards. 

 No charge but suggested donation of £5.00

Swanage Pier Friday History Walk

Friday 16th, Friday 23rd and Friday 30th October at 2.30pm

Enjoy a tour following in the footsteps of the Victorians in a stroll  along the pier, a pleasure that has been enjoyed by generations. 

Experience a breath of fresh air and great views while learning about the history of the pier told by one of our Volunteers.

Tours start at the gatehouse, normal admission applies to the Pier.

Due to current guidelines walks will be restricted to 6, including the walk leader. Please therefore book a place prior to the walk by following the below book now link.

Halloween Fun on Swanage Pier

Saturday 24th October - Sunday 1st November - 9.00am - 4.00pm each day

Come and find the spooky creatures hidden on the Pier, as part of our Halloween trail. 

Due to current restrictions we are not able to hand out trail sheets this year.  If you would like one then download one to print here.
